Odkrycie, ze w przypadku większości materiałów ferroelektrycznych typu przesunięcia, przejście fazowe związane jest z obecnością miękkiego modu, spowodowało przesunięcie środka ciężkości badań spektroskopowych ferroelektryków na poszukiwanie i badanie własności tego modu. Zmianie temperatury w okolicy przejścia fazowego towarzyszy często pojawienie się w widmie nowych linii (w fazie niskotemperaturowej) w skutek rozszczepienia w wyniku całkowitego lub częściowego usunięcia degeneracji lub uaktywnienia się modów zabronionych przez symetrię. Innym elementem jest zmiana częstości rejestrowanych modów. W przypadku ferroelektryków "niewłaściwych", do których należą molibdeniany nie da się wyjaśnić anomalnego zachowania temperaturowego "statycznej" przenikalności elektrycznej materiału ani jej wartości. Trzy pytania nasuwają się w związku z tym: 1) dlaczego miękki mod przestaje być widoczny na długo przed osiągnięciem przez kryształ temperatury przejścia? 2) czym różni się ferroelektryk "niewłaściwy" od "właściwego"? 3) jakiego typu jest w tych ferroelektrykach mechanizm przejścia fazowego?The dielectric function and the ion effective charge in improper ferroelectrics on the example (ß -molybdateIn the present work results of whole range ir reflection spectra investigation of ß-Gd2(Mo04)3 from room temperature up to 1100 K are presented for the first time. On a basis of an analysis of temperature dependence of dielectric function and effective charge as estimated from LO-TO splitting an attempt has been undertaken to answer the following questions: 1) why all the observed soft modes are no more observable long below the transition temperature? 2) what, from a point of view of lattice dynamics, is a difference between "proper" and "improper" ferroelectrics? 3) of what type is the phase transition mechanism?Spis treści:Wstęp 1.
